I just won a Remington 700 BDL 300 Win mag from the SFW banquet and I looking for a good scope to put on it. I am looking to spend around $400.00 and saw the Burris LRS 4.5X14x42mm with the Ballistic Plex and wanted to know what other people thought about Burris or the options on this scope.
I plan on hunting deer, elk and if I ever draw out for a moose or bision tag.

thanks

My .300 Win Mag is sporting a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x40mm. So far I love it. I have heard good things about the Burris Signiture line and the Ziess Conquests as well. Any of these 3 are well suited for handling the job atop a .300 Winny. It's best to check them all out and go with the one that most compatible with your eye. All of them have a lifetime warranty. I went with the Leupy because I'm 20 minutes from thier front door and it's hard to argue with thier reputataion also it just looked better to me. Let us know what you decide.

I just put a Burris Fullfield II on my .338 last night. I'm really impressed with the optics. I went out last evening at last light, and was really surprised at how bright the scope was. Now, only time will tell how well it holds up. I also got a free spotter thrown in with the deal. It's just a fixed 20 power Burris, but still pretty cool. I got it through Bear Basin.

The Burris is a good scope and would serve you well. But I think that, in your price range, the Zeiss Conquest is the best for the buck.

Zeiss Conquest is a splendid scope. They are the best scope in their class right now.

I have a 3.5-10x44mm stainless Conquest that I like as well as any scope I have ever had, except my Schmidt and Bender. And it's close! The reticle on the S&B was just the cats meow.

If I had it to do all over, I would probably have gone with the Conquest in 3-9x40. More compact, lighter(a little), and a steal at around $350.00.

Nikon Monarch is a great buy too, but give the edge to the Conquest due to the FOV it offers.

That Burris Ballistic Plex reticle is really user friendly. I would like to try one.

What options did you have on your fullfield II?
Ballistic Plex, mil-Dot?
Also what did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking?

Thanks

I got the Fullfield with the Ballistic Plex. It was $195 through Bear Basin. And like I said, they threw in a Burris 20X Landmark Spotter. It's a pretty cool little spotter.

I have a vari xII 3-9x50 on mine and it is awesome. The 50mm brings a lot more light in. Zero at 200 and you need to know your ballistics of ammo you choose. Awesome scope. Took 2 animals with it last year.
