Colorado Unit 10

I've drawn a mule deer tag for the late hunt in unit 10. If anyone is familiar with this area or has drawn this hunt in the past, I would appreciate any information on specific areas, accessability, or what size deer to expect. I'm from Michigan and will only be able to scout a couple days before the season, so I need to narrow it down to some specific areas before my trip. Thanks in advance.

I've seen some nice deer around the town of Dinosaur. How many points did it take you to draw? By late hunt do you mean 3rd season?

What made you decide to apply for 10? Just a shot in the dark? How many points did it take? I have seen some hawgs come out of that unit and can answer some of your questions. Send me an e-mail if you want to chat away from here.

Yes, by late hunt I meant third season. It took 11 pts. to draw, my dad also applied with 10 and did not draw. I chose unit 10 for several reasons, it was recommended by Carter's Hunter Services, I will probably be hunting elk there soon and will be able to learn a little about the area on this hunt, and I was concerned about what would happen to the point system after this year. Also, I had heard that the drought had made the Pinion Canyon Army Depot hunt pretty tough, which was where I had originally planned to use my points.
