I will be the first to ask a "where to" question. Anybody have any secret spots they want to share? Or how about just a place I can start scouting?

Hey Steve,

I drew the same area you did....and you beat me to the question. Are you a resident or non? I am a nonresident form Idaho. Did you draw the any weapon hunt? I drew the Sept. Muzzleloader hunt. Good luck.

Anybody with any ideas about Area 7 and it's various Mountian ranges and/or Deer movement patterns, please speak up or contact me at [email protected] I have an idea that the highest elevations might be the place to start for a Sept. hunt but at this point that's just a guess. Thanks

I'm a Non from Utah. I drew the any weapon hunt. Lets keep in touch and maybe we can help each other out.

I'll help you both, I have some good ideas.
Steve, to bad you struck out on your first
choice, I was really looking fwd. to having a
reason to get down there. next year it will be
my first choice.

Fairchase,
Congrats on the tag. I ended up with the same tag and area and it should be a good hunt. I expect to go scouting for a few days and I'd be willing to swap any useful info.

Thanks for the info you gave me a couple of months ago on outfitters in area 10. It was my first choice but since I drew second choice (7 muzz) I've got a couple of questions for you about migration timing, resident herds in 075. I'll send you an email.

My wife drew the Muzz tag so i'll be there also. I drew and saw only one monster last year and will be keeping my fingers crossed he is still around.

Last year in the area I hunted there were dozens of little bucks that should be in the 24" range this year but the older age class that would be the shooters this year were harder to come by. With that said there are some big deer in 7 just do not stop looking the big one I found last year was only out at night. I never got a shot but it was a great hunt he would have gone book.

One other thing if you find a buck around any elk good luck. There were 4 guys for every bull tags out scouting and then hunting since they start a week later. You will see some big bulls while scouting. It seemed to me that the elk have pushed a lot of deer to the lower areas.

Good luck

I've hunted area 7 a few times, in fact it used to be my favorite area until I started guideing in area 10. If I can help any of you out give me a call at 801-550-4973 or e-mail at [email protected]
