I was told a number of years ago that the best habitat in North America for Mule deer is in Utah County, Utah. He said that there is an incredible number of record book bucks from that county from the 1960's and 70's. I am from MT and there are a lot of deer up there, but I admit that I have see more and bigger bucks down in the Utah County area. I hate hunting the scrub oak, but the deer seem to love it.
Does anyone know if Utah County is the best habitat? If not there, then where?
