Colorado unit 49

I drew a 3rd season mule deer tag for 49. I've hunted there a couple of years ago and got a forky. This year I plan on either getting a decent sized buck or having tag soup. Anyone out there have any suggestions on this unit? I saw lots of deer last time just nothing big till after I shot that fork, of course. Thanks alot

If'n I was wantin' to get me a big 'ol buck in 49, my best chance we be in dat dere smokepole season.

There are real nice bucks in 49 and they are alot easier to find when they are up above timberline in early September. It'll be tougher in the third season, but concentrate on the quakie forests and groves in hard to get to spots on the west side.

Wouldn't be fair? That's not fair, you leading me on and then saying "on the west side", west side of what? That little ridge, this big rock, that there stream? Sheesh I ask for help and I get lead on. Just kidding Buckspy, that's more info than I had before, I appreciate it, I'll make sure to stay on the west side of everything :} . I'll have to look into the muzzleloader season next year.
