I haven't really started my summer scouting yet. Still a little to early in antler growth yet. But with the long weekend here I'll probably hit the alpine for a early season walkabout this weekend.

Here is a picture of a buck I found yesterday evening after work. I was actually hoping to get a better look at one of his buddies that I saw the day before but had no luck. The other buck is actually quite a bit bigger than this guy. I hope I can find him and get a better look at him one of these days. Too bad I don't have a UT tag this year. Dang dedicated hunter program. 
Maybe one of these guys will make it through this season and be that much bigger for next year!

I luv this time of year when the velvet starts growing. NICE pics guys!!! DK has some new velvet pics, I seen some of them. probably waiting till afer the weekend.

I only wish I had pics of the buck I saw this morning. Went out to see what was kickin around and ran into A LOT more than I had bargained for! Saw 7 bucks in all, all nice 4x's or better, one respectable 2 pt.... but one of those 7 was a heavy/wide HOG with some trash! Can't wait to start patterning this sucker!
I'll be sure to take the digital video camera next outing. I'm not usually one to take the photo equipment out with me, but I need to!

Here are a couple more pictures from this last weekend. The picture quality is definitely not the best but they were a very long ways out. There were actually 14 bucks total in this bachelor group. One very nice 27-28 incher, 3 or 4 that will go 18 to 22 inches and the rest were pretty small. It's good to see that a couple bucks actually made it through last year!
The one in the snow is one of the 3 or 4 medium sized bucks.
This picture shows most of the bucks in the group. No really, they are all bucks, I promise! Next time I'll try to get a little closer.
