Been playing with my new video camera and found I can upload my old 8mm video to it and get way better digital quality than my Dazzle could.
So here's some better pics of the buck I call "The WideBugger".

Nice pictures. It is always fun to watch a buck over a 4-5 year period of time. That deer is a great buck. I would guess that the first pic would be as a 3 year old, which would make him 7 now. Thanks for posting the pics.

In most other areas I'd have to agree, but we have a great gene pool in this area. Not uncommon for bucks to look like that in their 2nd year antler growth. A lot of bucks here are basket racked 4 points in their 1st year of antler growth.

BC how big do they have to get for you to shoot them? He looks great in all the pic's.

Not buying the Basket rack/4 point/yearling part, maybe I need to get out more, nevertheless
The last 3 pictures are awesome, I'm guessing 36" wide, thanks for the Pict's.

BFE,
Not every yearling is a spike or forky. Basket rack 4 point yearlings are really common around here. I've killed quite the number of them over the years. They are so young you can break their leg bones with your bare hands. Damn good eatin' too. :) Problem is this buck is an example of what those young dinks can grow into.

We get a few yearlings that beome 4 points even in poor old Wyoming. And BCBOY is right; if you let them grow up, they can become studly real quick.

When does archery season open there, Steve? Could you slide in and stick an arrow in his ribs while he's still in that high country summer range?

Great shots. It's neat to see some of you guys can get your photos with out spooking your prey. I can't belive how many people post photos of their scouting trips that show the deer they just spooked . Why would anyone do this in the area they intend on hunting?? Keep up the great work, Those are some fantastic photos not only in the quality of deer involoved but showing the quality of the stalker's abilities as well.

I agree I killed a yearlin 4x4 a few years back, it was 89lbs & 8" wide...fresh as dew......if genetics are right thats what they should have is a 4 point...

I've got the skull off a winter kill yearling from an area near my house that has some bad genetics, lots of big mature two points and big threes, very rarely any 4 points. Anyways this winterkill is a three point and almost a four on one side. I really wish he would have made it. I watched him all fall and thought for sure he'd be a stud in a few years but he didn't live long enough.

BCBOY, that buck is awesome, really cool you've got so many pics of him. You need to add a pic of him from this fall.
