Does anyone know anything about this unit. I've hunted unit16A which is just west of 18B, but don't know anything about 18B. The hunt starts in late october. THanks in advance.

Mark,
never mind I got it. Where is a good place to start lookoing. I think we're going on a scouting trip later on in the season. If you could just tell where you think we would see anything I would appreciate it.

Will you want to start from the southeast side or the northwest side? Prescott or Kingman do you know?

Sorry can't help! I have hunted the Prescott side for a long, long time. My only advice is to purchase a lion tag before you go, and to hunt as close to the bacagrant as you can get.

I've hunted there off and on for the past 15 years.,.

bring some good hiking boots,, as there is not a lot of good roads to get places... up on the higher mesas, north of bagdad,
there is some higher #s of deer but lots of hunters too... desert areas towards highway 93 have less deer but big bucks in there...,,, I would take a drive from bagdad north on the campwood rd durning your scouting trip... this area reminds me alot of lower 6A apache maid area if you are familiar..
some small elk heard are supposed to be in the area...
campwood rd is the eastern boundry... may need a 4x4 during a rain or snowstorm...

happy hunting.....

Hey Huntforevr,
Look on the game and fish unit reports and find out who the game manager for that unit is. Then give him a call and he will give you all the info you need. I hunted up there three years ago and the game manager really was helpful. I like to hunt where the hunting pressure is least and in that unit its the desert portion. He told me there were some big bucks in there and not many hunters. Its rough country but if you like to hunting where not ot many people hunt then thats a good place. Around Elephant mt. and the aquarius cliffs and also he told me up on any of the mesas. The mesas are where most of the hunters go. I hope this helps and good luck.
