new mexico state record

The non-typ is 306 2/8. The typical is 211 7/8. They both came from Chama.

They were also taken by the same hunter Joe Garcia. Both taken in the 60s. They were taken on the same ranch as many other great bucks in that era.

The non-typical was owned by Don Schaufler but believe he has since sold out to Cabela's. The typical was owned by Masters Trophy Collection according to the 1999 Records Book of B&C.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-02-04 AT 08:41AM (MST)[p]The Non-Typical is on display in the Kansas City Cabela's store. It is also depicted in their huge statue out in front of the store. It is pretty awesome (the deer)! I believe the non-typical was taken in 1963, and the typical in 1965. His wife I believe filled the gap in 1964 by harvesting a 250"+ non-typical. I believe they all came from the Mundy Ranch.

Imagine that.....a 300" and 280" buck (the famed "Mundy Buck") existing together on the same ranch at the same time....I bet the rut was interesting to watch back then!

I got this off a website: www.muleymadness.com

They say that it is a pic of the "Mundy" Buck.
