Great bull Mrs. KTC!! Wow, I love that right antler! Looks like it had a mind of it's own! Good luck Warbirdum! Keep at it!

Chad

Been waiting for a report on Mrs. KTC's bull and WARBIRDUMS big stinky to. Where is this bull that Mrs. KTC dumped? Do I have to send KTC a pm or what. Come on guys, I like seeing big stinky bulls on the ground as much as the next guy, or bobcat?

Penguin

Thanks all you guys! Wow! What a hunt this was. That dirty Dutton just about got the best of us! Looks like some great bulls are hitting the dirt this year. Moosie, Browtine's boss?, some Mossy bulls, other posted Dutton bulls, the list goes on! Utah is great to hunt when you draw. Looks like this family is done with Utah elk but it was a great run!

We could not do it without WARBIRDUM's info and SaddleSore's hard work. These two are great! My wife was a trooper! She hit it hard and just when we thought the Dutton got us things worked out! I will catch up on all of th great bull posts after some rest.

Browtine, will you please post the picture with me and my wife?

Thanks again SaddleSore and BIRDUM!

I am sure he will post a photo as soon as he gets some rest it will be worth the wait.I sure hope they start talking a little better for the muzz hunt.Come on down ktc for my hunt I will even let you sleep in for a change.

Congrats to Mrs. ktc...That is a beautiful bull and some character to boot. That dirty Dutton keeps turning them out, but I can see it is a lot of hard work...
Mrs. antlerrick scored too, and I'll have to get some photos on for her too...
And to you guys who come and help and do the work with these hunts for us "PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED" """"guides"""".. ha ha ha ha...

You are so appreciated...

You women that hunt sure make this site extra special and with trophies like these, it's easy to see why you are the icing on the cake! Way to show us how it's done!

Beautiful bull.

Thanks Brandon.
I was just working on adding the photo where she is sitting to the right and in front that shows the neat split better, but the size on mine is smaller than I wanted. And hoping Ty and Chris wouldn't mind...
Maybe post that one also!
That is a cool bull!!

Warbird,
Thanks for your help. You deserve some credit as well. It was great having you and Bird Jr. around camp, although we will have to work on his right hook a little.

I will keep your invite in mind. My bay hunting partner may be available as well. My guess is there is still at least one bull left on that mountain that will meet your requirements. If there is, I am sure you will find him.

Thanks ktc. It was a good time as always.

Man ktc you're turning into quite the elk hunting pro. Two huge bulls in two years is awesome. Congratulations to you and especially to your wife.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-20-07 AT 04:45PM (MST)[p]Jeezus folks. I still feel like dying!

Thanks for the congrats and fine words. My wife has read them all. I will still catch up on the emails, pm's, and other great bull posts soon. Especially you antlerrick, Moosie, and MortgageMan. Some killer bulls. Tell your wife, antlerrick, she is a trooper! I am happy for her!

Hey, ar or bt. You guys can post the other two photos I sent for me? I want people to see this great bull and how he is built!

The story of this hunt is one of work! Without the three horses Eddie, Joe, and Jerry, this would never have happened either!

Saturday was a day of seeing some bulls, but nothing worth while. We tried to get in on one bull, but he was nothing special.

Sunday was exciting! We had a very good bull withing 100 yards or so, but could not find him through the jungle on the side hill. We had him at around 500 yards but he walked away not giving us a shot. Then 500 yards again, but his cow took him away. It was awesome, but no deal!

Monday beat us up. No bulls, no bugles, nothing! Talk about a downer! We were all beat and mentally I think Monday just about did us in. I had another spot and from the looks of things, it was not pressured. We rode in and two bugles met us in the clearing up high. We tied up and looked over the ridge. We saw nothing but the bugles continued! When we bugled or cow called the bulls just walked away previously. I knew we had to try something so we cow called.

The bull stepped out in a clearing on the opposite ridge at 354 yards. My wife had a perfect tree branch to rest on. She felt she could make the shot but the bull was coming for the cow calls. He made his way to 304 yards and now had a sage clearing to cross. He was coming in all the way!

He reached the bottom of our ridge and now was getting too close in the burnt cedars. He finally turned broadside and presented a 125 yard shot. My wife shot and all I heard was a solid thud. The bull wobbled drunk and fell over dead. Damn we were relieved and excited when we walked up to the nontypical monster. He is really massive down low, great tines down low, then he goes crazy with extras and a double beam split at his right g4.

My wife, brother and myself are beat. We have never been so exhausted and mentally beat up.

Good luck WARBIRDUM and thanks SaddleSore. Your name is fitting right now. Go get it done WARBIRD. Hopefully there is one more left. I really think with some work you can find a good bull. You know I am there if needed and WHEN needed! Your glassing was a help and your company was appreciated!

ktc,
I will give it my best shot was thinking if mrs.ktcs bull has a twin brother he could be in trouble that bull has so much mass and character the more you look at it the better it gets if you ask me.Now go rest up and get feeling better the 26th is coming fast bring ol snotty down he needs to be worked over now.he he

What an incredible monster! Contrats to the Mrs. and you on another incredible bull! Those epic adventures are the ones that make for the lifelong stories we all love to hear over and over.

I can't wait to see what you guys do for a mount. With both them big daddy's now, you're going to need a new room to put them in :)

Congrats again KTC!

Cheers,
Pete

C3,

I knew you were out there! The way we would go at it and you give compliments in the end tells me you are a good man! She appreciates all of the nice words and I really appreciate them from you and some of the others I have argued with!:)

Thanks everyone. Makes a guy feel good when the compliments stream in like this. Predator can I claim you as a dependent?;-) Seriously, we had points. We will be sitting out now. Good luck to those who are waiting. It is a great experience!

That is a beast. Congrats. What up wit da camera lens? Is it dirty or fogged up?

OMG!! Amazing!! That's one of those pictures you just stare at. You can't even really imagine shootin' something like that.....hard to believe they even exist. And to have your wife be able to hang her tag on it.....Unbelievable!

Congratulations to you and your wife!

Congratulations!! Sounds like you had a blast. Great job on a monster bull....Keep it up

Thanks everyone! She is getting all the posts.

toughshed,

Good question? The glare from the sun was terrible and SaddleSore could not move the bull to put the sun behind us. :)

HEY ktc!!!

LET CHRIS HAVE THE KEYBOARD FOR A FEW MINUTES!!!

I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS FOR HER!!!

469ff2b8110d7f4e.jpg

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

This is Chris (mrs ktc). I appreciate all the comments about my bull. It really makes me feel good to know others think my bull is as great as I think it is! The hunt was hard, which makes me feel all the more proud of what I got. It was a hunt -- not a shoot.

Okay, bobcat. What questions do you have?

WELL FIRST OFF!!!

I'D LIKE TO CONGRADULATE YOU PERSONALLY ON ONE FINE BIG STINKY BULL!!!

HE'S A DANDY!!!

ARE YOU READY TO DO IT AGAIN IF YOU COULD DRAW???

THESE HUNTS TAKE ALOT OF PATIENCE ESPECIALLY WAITING TO PULL THE PERMIT!!!

WAS IT WORTH THE WAIT??? (((I ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION BUT ALOT OF MM'ERS WON'T BELIEVE JUST ME!!!)))

ALOT OF HARD WORK BUT YOU'LL REMEMBER EVERY BIT OF IT THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!

WAS THE OLD STUD (ktc!!!) A GENTLEMAN AND GUT THE BIG STINKY FOR YOU???

WHAT ARE YOU GONNA TRY & DRAW NOW???

JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU GREAT JOB FOR STICKING WITH IT UNTIL THE JOB WAS DONE!!!

I'M STILL AMAZED HOW YOU TOOK A BULL BIGGER THAN ktc'S,JUST RAZZIN YOU ktc,THEM ARE BOTH GREAT BULLS!!!

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

Thanks! That's funny you would ask if I would do it again. On the mountain ktc kept saying "when this is over, you'll think you want to do it again" I was thinking "whatever!" Well, I actually would do it all over again. The four days of hunting made me more sore than I thought they would and I was just looking forward to getting a big bull and being done! But now I just keep thinking how rewarding it was! And, I think all the hard work just made it feel that much more rewarding.

Definitely worth the wait! I waited almost 20 years to hunt a great unit. Think about what you've done in the last 20 years? What's the big deal to wait to get something you can feel so proud of and will never forget!!!!

And, the gutting? Well, thank goodness I have an amazing brother-in-law (saddlesore) that is willing to take his vacation to help me. He mostly did all the dirty work. But, ktc did help of course. He's a great guy! They both are. I did hold a leg here and there. I have no problem getting bloody and dirty, but honestly I would have no idea how to gut properly. And, I think I can live without that experience.

I have enough points that I should be drawing a mountain goat in the next year or two.

Well, I guess mine scored higher than ktc, but his is actually bigger looking. They will look great together. I do like my bull's character though!

Thanks again for all the kind words. I feel like I've written a novel, but I could go on and on and on. It was great! Chris

LAST EDITED ON Sep-21-07 AT 08:00PM (MST)[p]THATS GOT TO BE AN AWESOME FEELING!!!

I WOULD'NT TRADE YOUR BULL FOR ALL THE 320"-330" BULLS ON EARTH!!!

(((I HOPE wiley IS LISTENING???)))

YOU'RE RIGHT!!!

I'LL WAIT MY TURN,IF IT TAKES 20 YEARS THEN SOBEIT!!!

THERES JUST ONE MORE QUESTION???

DO YOU STILL THINK I'M ONE SICK & TWISTED Cat??? (((ktc MENTIONED IT TO ME A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO!!!)))

469ff2b8110d7f4e.jpg

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

I hope you meant to say you "would" trade....

Actually, I hear you're a pretty good guy. Why would I think otherwise? I guess I've missed something over the past few years. ;-)

GOOD EYE!!!

IT SHOULD MAKE BETTER SENSE NOW WITH AN EDIT JOB!!!

I CAN ALWAYS TELL WHEN A GUY THINKS THE WORLD OF HIS FAMILY & ktc DOES THINK THE WORLD OF HIS WIFE,KIDS & FAMILY & HIS FRIENDS!!!

WELL,I'LL QUIT FLIRTING (JUST KIDDING ktc!!!) WITH YOU NOW,GLAD TO SEE A FEW GALS OUT IN THE WOODS TAKING SOME GAME!!!

AGAIN,SUPER BULL!!!

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

Don't be flirting with my ol' lady bess! She is a keeper! I think I am a lucky guy with this one! You are right, I do think a lot of my wife and girls!

I think there is an only bobcat with a boy he is pretty fond of also. I hate to give it away, but the bobcat is all about his boy/boys! He is a pretty tame kitty off MM! The kind of cat if you were in a tight spot he would be a good one to have close by.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-22-07 AT 03:17PM (MST)[p]Hey ktc..
Here are the other two photos..
Just got back off of the mountain again, playing with the big stinkys... The wife just won't come home, even after smacking her bull. I have to think we have two of the coolest wifes on MM's this week. It is funner to see the comments they are getting than any of the ones we received...
Hope you get feeling better soon. I can feel your pain!! and mine as well. It is a lot of work, but well worth it when you can step back and be so proud of what these two gals have done!
Maybe somebody can make them bigger...I'm just lucky to get them to load!!!
I mean make the photos bigger!!! The freakin elk are big enough!!!!!!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-22-07 AT 04:55PM (MST)[p]Thanks ar.

I wish I knew what was wrong with our camera! That blurr just pisses me off!:)

I just checked the camera and the lense had some BAD smudges! Good thing SaddleSore has some better pics!

WTG Chris! That bull is awesome. I like his character too. Score another one for us girls. I hope I'm in your boots someday. I cannot wait to kill a big ol' bull. Beautiful bull and great job!

Jenn

Jenn,

Thanks! I always like the gal photos and the youngsters. I seen a young boy with a cow elk and bow pictures the other day and it was just cool! No matter how big the critter is, as long as there is a smile, that is what I like to see! Keep applying, you will draw. I will wait for your photos! My wife was too exhausted to smile too big, but she is sure proud of her critter after some rest!

elknut,

I sent you an email. I appreciate ar and bt posting the pictures, but it sounds like you can size them and maybe fix some glare and blurr? I am sick about the camera lens, but SaddleSore has some good clean ones!

Hey ktc, congrats to the wife, sorry I never knowingly bumped you to you, although I have some great video footage of her bull from the archery season. We had this bull at 50 yards but the hunter never had a clear shot. Very nice bull.

Warbird, I ran into Jay Scott down there as well, Jay said you are a good guy, his partner Steve Chappell had a Boulder archery tag. I hope you smoke a hawg down there.

I am speechless!!!
I hardly go into the elk forum... but today I did and
I must say WOW ...great job to all of you guys and gals!
NOW WHAT? Deer? wait for elk again? hard to beat those two monsters you guys got now!
rm

Drove by that pig on the freeway! All I saw were antlers sticking out of the back of the truck. Great job Mrs ktc. I always like to see the ladies do well. Can't wait to see it in person. I'm a little late on the post but I just rolled into town yesterday. Barely beat that storm pulling trailers and camps down out of the hills. Good to sleep on a nice bed again.
Will talk to you guys soon I'm sure.

It's always an adventure!!!

Oh wow! I like that bull even more now. What character and what a huge bull. Again...CONGRATS and way to kick some big bull a@@!

Jenn

Jenn,

Thanks! You sound like my wife!;-)

AWLB,

Yes we passed on I-15. I seen his AWLB truck and called him fast! He had some dandy ivory tips poking out of his truck also! I think AWLB put a dent in the herd! :)

elk,

Thanks for the photo posting. Yup, you were late! Oh well, thanks!

elkslayer,

"The last time I see Dutton will be in my rear view mirror!" I am following that advice! The mountain has just about killed me off.

Pro,

So where did you video her bull at? My guess is you have a different bull? I ran into nobody! :)

Remember, I was down there from August 28th till AFTER the mrs killed. I'll try and get it downloaded for you to look at. You may not of 'ran into nobody', but that doesn't mean you weren't watched. Not to be to specific, how about south of Antimony about 10 miles or so? If this is not that same bull, it is his clone. I tried to get my archery hunter in on him w/o success. We got close, just not close enough for an arrow.

I ran into Jay Scott from Arizona at Ruby's, he was there to help Steve Chappell on the Boulder. He said he is buddies with warbirdum, how did Monte do anyhow? I am talking Wyo and Dutton.

PRO

Monte is still hunting. I know he is friends with those guys, but not sure of the connection. I am not sure if WARBIRDUM is in Utah or Wyoming?

I had an erie feeling somebody was watching me. You know, you just never feel right? Maybe it is the same bull? I have no clue. His front shoulders were built like he had been working out though. ;-)

Post the video?

PRO,

You are scaring the hell out of me now! Since we were being watched, can you tell me what color our horses were? There were 3 of them. We were also on them at all times except at camp.;-) I need to know if you were really watching me and stalking my wife and her bull???

I am back from the hunt and it was a rough hunt could not get in on any good bulls and was not seeing anything real nice except for the bull I named river bull I did spot him on the beaver unit and that was the last time I seen him.I shot a bull yesterday morning 6x6. The unit had me worn out so I decided to try for the next decent 6 I could find.I do know one thing without the help down on my hunt I think I may have been eating tag soup.I know I did not kill what I was seeing earlier before my muzz season started and not the caliber of bull I was dreaming about but this hunt was one of the my top fun hunts at camp and on the mountain what great help I had down there thanks you guys for keeping me going as long as you did.
Heading to Wyoming in the morning to start another elk hunt will maybe post some pics of at least my dutton bull and hope my Wyoming bull if I put one down when I return.

WARBIRDUM,

You need to post some pics when things settle down. Not the 360+ you had hoped for, but very respectable bull! There was nothing more you could have done. 3 in the morning until 10 at night was more than enough each day. You had some great help on the mountain in Jeremy. The guy is a stud. The weather and bulls were not giving you a very good chance. Good luck in Wyoming!

Ty,
As I was driving home today I was thinking what a hell of a hunt and I tried everything I could think of on finding that once in a lifetime bull but things just did not work out for me.Jeremy said something to me after my kill that will stick with me forever. Its not about the score of the bull its about what it takes day in and day out trying and hunting as hard as you can that makes the memories last forever he told me I could not have hunted any harder than we did and that is the truth but the laughs we had will stick forever another thing is I will not want to go back down on that unit for a very long time between wind burn, early mornings and getting back late horse rides, rattlesnakes, ankle twisting rocks coming out in the dark getting trucks stuck and so on.I will agree Jeremy is a animal that kid kept pushing me to the limit that one day just about killed me off getting up in the steep area where the big bull was living during the rifle hunt and to find some jack azzes riding four wheelers illegal in the area was just enough to make me pissed. That bull was never seen again after the stunt they pulled and I damn near called up the Bobcat to give them a nice high country tune up.
Ty thanks for everything you did to help me out the day we tied the horses up and called in that small bull was just plain fun Matt thanks for letting me use your horse I can see me needing one just getting to old to chase bulls on foot day in and day out they sure can save a guy alot of aches and pains.
Wyoming here we come seen some good bulls on the archery hunt hope I can relocate a couple up there to hunt this week.

RE: TAKE NOTE JACK-ASSES!!!

Ty, I am just joking, I was never spying on you guys, I had plenty of action keeping up with the bulls we were after, I was just messing with you. I will go thru the video footage and see if I can find mrs ktc's bull in there.

Bird, sorry you had to deal with illegal atv'ers, one of the best things about the Dutton is the VERY limited atv trails. You are dead on though, it isn't the size of the antlers that you will remember 10 years from now, it will be all those aching muscles and sore feet, and the memories made with friends. Congrats on your bull, and I wish you well in Wyoming.

RE: TAKE NOTE JACK-ASSES!!!

PRO,

I was a little concerned with the women folk peeing in the trees! Ha!

If you got video, I would love to see if he is the same bull? If he is, he traveled a long ways. Elk are funny, they can move it when they want to.

bobcat,

I know WARBIRDUM has no excuses. That just sucks when a "Fat Bastard" rides his wheeler up a canyon in a sandy canyon bottom having no clue what he is screwing up. I guess you just have to deal with it even when it is wrong. BIRDUM and Jeremy hike in and Fat Bastard goes around and rides in in a closed area. His bull is very nice and he told me he is very proud of what he got. He said this elk was by far the toughest one yet. We did laugh at camp. Seemed like someone was always keeping the mood light in some less than perfect conditions. BIRDUM called in several bulls and has some great video of elk playing with calls and decoys. I had a blast watching the curious bulls.

Kill the massive bull BIRDUM.

RE: TAKE NOTE JACK-ASSES!!!

good luck Warbirdum! Smoke one of them Wyoming pigs.

ktc,
we head for Wyoming tomorrow for Kacies' goat hunt. Kyle says that storm moved a bunch of goats into Kacie's unit. Should be fun.

It's always an adventure!!!

RE: TAKE NOTE JACK-ASSES!!!

bobcat,

Be very careful! Those guys were FAT! If they get a hold of you you are in deep chit! Bob and weave when they come to Altamont! That dude needed a King Quad to pack his big fat ass. 700cc of piped horse power! Certainly the guy will not get your invitation cuz no one on MM has ever rode a quad through the sticks. I call BS on that one! We knew this was going to be a problem. I called the FS last year about this same thing. I guess they are too busy to respond to brand new reseeds getting tore up by a worthless POS quad?

AWLB,

I thought you were in Wyoming last week for some reason? Tell Kacie good luck and enjoy!

RE: TAKE NOTE JACK-ASSES!!!

Warbird,
No problem on the horse. If I remember correctly, I owed you one anyway.

Good luck in Wyoming, I hope you kill a monster. Keep us posted.

RE: TAKE NOTE JACK-ASSES!!!

I killed a bull in Wyoming Tuesday I liked how he looked there were a few bulls I seen that were larger during the archery hunt but I wanted good 4ths and 5ths so I decided to take him what a season I dont know if I could go out one more day I am worn out and beat up after these 2 hunts. Thanks to everyone that took time and helped me out this year.Ryan and I had a great day in Wyoming yesterday until the Wyoming winds broke my awning arms on my trailer after getting my elk out hey Ty I even got to sleep in today that felt great. If someone wants to post my elk photos send me your e-mail in a pm.
