New Mexico Unit 17

Just wondering if anyone has been up in unit 17 (San Mateo's or Magdalena Mtns). I drew a bow tag for deer up there and was wondering on the conditions or any information any one can give.
The hunt starts in a little over a week, any information is appreciated.

I was there looking for bear this week. Did not see bear, but 13-does, no bucks. I was at the southern part of the unit (Red Rock area). Lots of rain and cactus fruit. With that many does I would imagine there would be some bucks. Take good binocs for sure!

I was up there too this weekend. Conditions were good. Saw 3 does, looks like with the temps they move real early and very late.. No sign of bears.. I will keep my eyes open while out hunting and see what I see.
