hi, im new to this site and new to mule deer hunting. I will be hunting CO for the first time(unit 11& 211)the second season.I would appreciate any information on the terrain, weather for mid OCT., size and quainty of bucks for these units. I was planning on hunting the southern portion of unit 11 or the northern portion of unit 211 along the Yampa River. (public land) Any information will be usefull as I will only have a day and half to scout before season opens. Thanks

Welcome to the site, you came to a great place to learn about Muley hunting. There is a ton of knowledgable guys here, I happen to not be one of them :D. SOrry I cant help you with the Colorado units but good luck, someone here will chime in.

FYI: site rules state that all newbies must send me a case of beer. Thanks....

Do you prefer the Busch brand beer that the WA bear left in the cooler? j/k I kinda like these forum rules you mentioned, however, I think that real beer requires a bottle opener.

SHOME,

I don't know anything about your area, but welcome. And if it is like most of the rest of NW Colorado, you'll need to get as far from a road as you can. I'd be at a good vantage with the sun at my back at daylight the first day, looking over some country. And I'd also try not to go through the country I'm going to hunt the two days right before the season opens. I see more people spook deer and lessen their chances of success by doing that than I can count.

Anyhow, welcome and good hunting.
