Unit 135 Wyoming

My son and I are going to hunt unit 135 for mule deer this year.Does anyone know any good areas there ? I have been hearing the deer population is down somewhat there .We are planning on staying in Afton or Cokeville and driving out to hunt each day. When we hunt we usually hike in to an area 2 to 4 miles, we don't have horses. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Gibby

That is a huge area. The deer are on a decline, but there are still plenty to be found. I live in Afton. Emailed/PMed you.

I talked several times with the wardon there, he is a good friend of mine. he said they had a hard winter and it winter killed alot of does and fawns this year. But didn't do alot of damage to the mature deer. So, this year should okay, but you might see a dramatic effect in this area in a couple years due to the loss they took this year. I don't know the area well enough to tell you to go. But thought you should know there are still plenty of deer in that area.
