Saw my first hard horn muley yesterday (8/25). I've seen a few hard horn muleys during the last few days of August but normally don't see my first one until the first week of September.
Have you seen a muley with hard horns this year?
What's the earliest day that you have seen a muley with hard horns?

I have seen one hard antlered and another with rags of velvet from rubbing already hanging off.
Usually I have noticed most bigger bucks start to rub second or third week of September. Guess it depends more on when they finished growing out and can vary a week or two from area to area and deer to deer.
Guess that didn't help you out did it?:(
Good luck in your hunts this year.
Best,
Jerry

I was up on the mountian on saturday 8-21-04, I did see one hard horn buck, he will go about 170 or so, he was at about 7000ft altitude, all the other bucks were still velvet, then on thursday 8-26 I saw a little forky who was all shined up?? usually they are the last? unfortunatly I havent found a shooter buck for tomarrow! but maybe he will show up
good luck to all!

Last year in Colorado, it was a mix. Some of the bucks still had partial velvet, some hard horns. That was 9/13.

I've killed a whitetail on the 5th of Sept, on the 8th of Sept, and a mulie on the 3rd of sept, and they have all been hard horned. One whitie had just shed. I had my first bull elk bugle this last week. What a nutcase. Thats the second time I've bugled them in in August. This cold snap must have them worked up a little.

Late August in Utah 2 years ago I saw 3 that were rubbed. Won't be long wherever you are at.
