anybody know of a good area in unit one in idaho for mule deer and elk? i have drawn an early hunt permit for deer and would like to hunt during the elk season. any help would be appreciated. thanks, jack
what part of area 1 are you hunting in? I got a 50 incher at Soloman Lake a few years back. Elk are scarce there so I'm hoping to find a better location. Good luck! Jack
Just spent the last 4 days canvassing the area. No mulies, but lots of whitetails. Thats cool about the 50 incher. Do you have a picture??? That is some thick stuff over there. Going to be a challenge for sure. I'm making a couple more trips over there. One will be in about two weeks. I'll keep you posted. One of the areas I was looking at is near some serious rocks and alpine stuff, and I saw alot of deer tracks that seemed too big for whities. I also think I was too high. PM me if you want that info.
Hey, I thought I'd check with ya and see how your doing with your moose. There are a ton of them in there, but finding the right one is tough. I live in Coeur dA'lene so the drive was pretty easy for me, sometimes I'd go up for just a half of day. Anyway, good hunting! Jack
