We are planning on hunting in the Bears ears area on the first rife hunt Oct-15-24th. What areas would you suggest? How many deer should we expect to see in these units?
Thanks in advance for any input or suggestions.

I dont know squat about that area, but it gets pounded hard if I remember right from the stats. I think that any area that has high hunter numbers, high elk numbers, is highly accessible, and has easy to get concurrent elk and deer tags probably isnt going to be the easiest place in the world to find mature bucks. If you really have no Idea where to go, I would recommend getting there a day or two before the opener, and finding a well off-the-beaten-path area, find some good vantage points overlooking a good chunk of area that has some water and decent browse, and glass like there is no tomorrow. Hopefully someone here will throw you a bone...

I don't think so . We purchased leftover muley tags for these areas. I was hoping someone might point us in the right direction.

Try in between Grizzly Park and Bears Ears.
Hike in a few miles and the world is quiet with no kaos from all the hunters near the roads.
There are a few good bucks up there if you can hold off on shooting the smaller 4x4's.
Take a compass or GPS since it can get real thick. In the past I have helped countless panicked hunters who were lost and trying to leg it out of there. They just about promised me there daughters for helping them.LOL
Pick up an over the counter elk tag while your at it. Not many big bulls but plenty of raghorns and good eating.
Good luck on your hunt.
