Success! I finally tired last year of hunting elk in WA with modern firearm. Tired of finding so many people trampling through the areas I hunt. I put in for a bull tag in the Toutle unit for 7 years and never drew it. My wife went out and bought me a bow for christmas so as to stop my grouching. So the 1st time I put in for it as archery (8 points accumulated) I drew it. My bull isn't close to the largest bull we saw up there but I feel blessed to have taken him. He weighed in at between 750 - 800 lbs, 5 points one one side and 3 on the other with a 29 1/2 inch spike coming up from the eyeguards. I also bagged a 25 lb bobcat at 35 yards. It was one of the best hunts I have ever been on and I would have said that if I had come back empty handed. Good luck to everyone else this year. I also drew a special tag in WA for any whitetail buck in the Aladdin unit (GMU 111), Is anyone familiar with that area and can give me a starting point? This is a late hunt Nov 21st - 25th. Sorry all my pictures are to big to upload. I will try to figure that out and upload later.
