Unit 10 Closures

I apologize if this info has already been shared. I've been away from the MM website for a few days. A very reliable source imparted to me this morning that hunters with Unit 10 tags should be receiving formal information about Unit 10 road and ranch closures from the AZ. G&F Dept. very soon. I'm planning a couple of scouting trips to Unit 10 before the October 29th any antlered deer opener and felt this info might be useful to others with similar agendas. Good luck and "pass it on.".... Yo Scattergun -- I scouted the southwest part of Unit 10 (north of Seligman) last weekend. Navajo Nation has locked all the gates. AGF has posted a notice that they were caught off guard, without notice of the closure. As of now, the entire sw part of the unit is closed, a much larger area than AGF had originally posted. Had more heavy rain yesterday (Wed), so it may be tough to get the area opened again.

Looking forward to some good news and dry times

The Boquillas Ranch was closed in Unit 10 in August due to road damage by careless people driving muddy roads. The gate at Schafer Tank and Pika Camp were closed. The gates by Cowboy Ridge, and Black Tanks Ranch were/are opened. Schafer Tank IS currently open. I just came out of there this past weekend and all gates except Pika Camp are open and should remain so. Game and Fish is extremly slow at passing along information, this all should have come out a month ago. It is no longer closed.

Even though information from G&F and the Navajo Nation seems snail-like, we can certainly keep our MM information network going. I'll be scouting the Seligman area the weekends of October 9th and October 23rd and plan to update my findings to this site quickly. Sure would appreciate you guys continuing to do the same. Thanks for the great info.
