I'm thinking about applying for this unit, (I know, thinking a little early). I'm starting to research a little hoping to get the 4/11. I did some shed hunting near Ryan Park last February but didn't find much.

This hunt is how we get back at Colorado, for having looser liquor laws, we lure their deer into Utah & shoot them before all them lushes can :p
Since it takes early heavy snows to successfully lure in the deer, I would consult a psychic meteorologist before applying.

I hunted this hunt about 10 years ago. We had the snow, but never really located any monster bucks. Seen alot of 4x4's in the low 20"-23" range. I did see one Monster Bull Elk! I have not applied since they raised the price so much. I would rather hunt southern Utah.

Its the late season that intrigues me. Sounds as if the weather plays a big part in the hunting success.

Save your points and go hunt them in Colorado before they migrate. Same deer less points used. That deer herd has definately seen better days and is not experiencing a significant rebound in numbers and quality like other areas around GJ. But like almost anywhere in Colorado, it will have a hog buck or two skanking around the cedars and oakbrush.

 "This hunt is how we get back at Colorado, for having looser liquor laws" WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!

And I thought 10 bucks for a sixpack at the Bullfrog marina was "getting back at us"
