I thought I would post some pictures of the bull I took on Opening morning of the Utah late hunt . I had scouted for three days before
the hunt started and ad never seen this bull . I had decided to take a bull that wasn't as good as him but a nice bull all the same . well as luck would have it my stalk on the other bull didn't work so i was trying to decide what to do when this bull came down the canyon to my right and after a short look to study him I decided to take a crack at him and the rest is history . I know that I am setting my self up for all you field judges but I will tell you his score anyways , I have him at 373 gross . The pictures don't show his mass but he is very heavy .

LAST EDITED ON Nov-13-07 AT 04:56AM (MST)[p]That's a beautiful bull there. And the first pic DOES show the mass. Thanks for posting all the different angles, leaves nothing out.

He did go down in a hell of a hole and it was a work out getting him out but lucky for me it was all down hill . it took 5 shots to keep him on the ground the first one was in the boiler room but he didn't drop so I kept shooting , he went down after the second shot but got back up . I hit him every shot with My 325 SWM at 338 yards
. I have never seen a animal take so many hits and keep trying to get up . only one of the shots wasn't in the vitals .

Congrats on a great bull...good thing for the other one not workin out huh...everything happens for a reason...Justin

>Beauty! Which unit? Like you'll ever
>draw again ;-)

Well I may never draw again but I have kids trying ! I don't think that it will change the odds that much though . I shot him on the Monroe unit

What an awesome bull. This bull proves that you can find one on the late rifle hunt that isn't all busted up. What a dandy!
Congrats big time! How many points did you have?!

Great bull, but I'm not seeing 370 plus. How long did he sit before you found him. He looks a little gassed and the rear legs appear to be sporting some serious rigor...

Great Bull!! Nice swords in the third pic.

Great Bull!

My father-in-law also killed a great bull on Monroe opening morning. I will try to get some pictures posted.

Myturn...you did good on yourturn. Hope I can do that well when it's myturn at the turn of the next century.

Triple_bb I knew there would be someone that would want to challenge my score and that is OK , As I said in my first post that is my score I think I am damn close but I will find out soon as I am going to have him scored by an official just to be sure , as for the looking gassed up yes he did gas up quick because as I stated one shot wasn't placed real well when I was trying to keep him on the ground and he was gut shot so he gassed up real fast . it took about 30 min to get to him after he was down for good . I hope that answers your questions

Steve

You definitely used your turn wisely. Beautiful bull! I've never hunted Monroe but have spent a little time there. Was it on the Koosherm side or the Monroe side?

Post Script: I'm no expert, but there is at least 370? of antler there! Congrats!

thank you for the support , I was on the Monroe side . My family has a Cabin on the top of Monroe Mtn just above Monroe Meadow so it meant a lot to me to be able to finally get to hunt there . and it turned out even better being able to get a bull of that caliber

thanks again
Steve

Steve, Brent & Lindon Hatch had a little 40 acre deal right in the middle of the Forest up there. Same outfit?

No our cabin and property have been in the family for a long time . I am not sure who Brent and Lindon hatch are but I am guessing they might be over by Manning reservoir ?

Again, very nice Bull. He looks every bit of 370.
As for rigamortis: You can kill a bull LATE at night, and the next morning early, he has it.
GREAT BULL, nice job.

Thats a great looking bull. I got some great video of the bull 3 days before you killed him. If you filmed the hunt then what i got would be great to go with it..You visited my buddy on the hunt...Whats your email??

I wish I had gotten some video of him but things happened a little to fast so we didn't get it on video . my son had came along just for that reason but I couldn't wait as my shooting window was just to small . I assume you are talking about Jason . he is a super nice guy and it was great to get to know him . he was right there with me when I shot my bull and I have some great pictures of him and his son with the bull . I will send you my email address on a pm . well I thought I knew how to send a private message but I guess not so My email address is [email protected]

thanks
Steve

I can see 370 in this bull. Just a real solid 6 pt with good mass and beam length and lots of curl on his bottoms. Not many deducts either. Great trophy Myturn.

Great bull, A shooter for sure, Regardless of score. Let me know though when it comes in.

Great Bull!
I too think you are real close on the score.
Congrats again!
