I have drawn this tag and am getting excited to give it a shot next month. Is there anyone out there who could give me advice on what to expect?

I know that weather is a key component on this hunt, big snowstorms really help. What about if there isn't much snow? The deer should be rutting by this time--exciting.

Is it mostly private land down low? Are there landowners willing to allow access for a trespass fee? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

you might take a look at Garfield creek if it snows as well as the next drainage to the west. The area around 4 mile is usually decent but lots of hunters.

leet is right garfield creek is o.k. as well as 4 mile. there will be a lot of hunters out. best advice is to just get away from them with good ol fashioned leg work. I dont know of any trespass hunts in that area but that doesnt mean they dont exsist.you might try sopris and avalanche creeks as well good luck.
