Hey fellas....I made it back from my trip to Wyoming. Man, I wish I lived over there! Ended up takin' my best antelope so far on day 1 (do not have those pics developed yet.) and this deer on day 4. Passed up one similar to this guy on the second morning, too early. Chased one about 28" later that day, but the stupid thing was runnin' with a bunch of antelope and I could never get close. But I was able to take this one, and am pretty happy with him.

Not much to look at, but you can tell it goes as far as your eyes can see. Nothing but rolling sage brush.

Headed into town one day and saw this stupid goat stuck in between two fences on either side of the road and didn't know where to go. If only the one I shot was this easy. :)

Now I only have to wait 11 1/2 months to go back. Lookin' forward to my late tag here in WA.

Good luck to the rest of ya....:)

Good looking buck, by the way that one and the 28er" running with the antelope were the last two bucks left in Wy, no reason to apply again next year. :p

Thanks for the kudos guys....I was in Region B. That antelope there in the street is coming into Douglas. I took my goat on the first day and had 4 days to go, decided to take it into Grizz's and have it made into sausage(stinky dam things).

PDear....It's worth applying to me next year, I had a blast, and love huntin' that open country for a change.

Dakota....I saved that 28 for next year:) I figured I'd let him breed with some of them lopes' and maybe find one of those freaks in a couple years. My antelope was 18 1/2" wide so maybe it was already one of his offspring...lol :)

Congratulations! Very nice looking deer. I like how symetrical he is. Thanks for the pics and stories!

Nice deer, and just thought I would let you know that you picked a good guy to take the meat to. I take care of all of my wild game but grizz does our hogs for us and I have to say that the hams are the best in the world. Again congrats on the deer

I don't know what hurt more at the end of each day, my eyes or my feet. I spent a ton of time glassing, but usually huntin' the high country here in WA., that sage was too nice for me not to go into. Did a lot of walkin' too.

Grizz's is a great place....we were able to get both our antelope and deer cut up before we left. Those guys/gals were workin' hard in there. Can't wait to go back.

Nice job, thats a nice buck! How many points do you have in Wa?
I have a late whitetail hunt in gmu 204 in Nov, so I'm pretty pumped. Good luck on the general hunt.

Thanks Falcon....I HAD 5pts. but I drew the late Chiwawa tag this year. I'll be more or less a pack mule for one of my partners this coming weekend....unless I see my dandy early :) Never know. I'll be lookin' for one of those thick, dark, nasty lookin' migratory bucks come the middle of Nov. :) Good luck to ya on your late tag, should be a good one!

Nice pics..... I like the lope on the road. And congrats on the good buck,

Looks like you had a good time here, I am glad to live in Wyoming, lol. Congrats on the deer and the goat.
