Fawn in Distress call?

When hunting whitetails, I was able to pull a couple of does in using a fawn in distress call. Has anyone tried it for mule deer does. I only have a doe tag, so that is what I was thinking of trying.

Thanks.

ELK INC. www.elkinc.com has a great Mule Deer call. It is basically a fawn in distress call. I have stopped running deer with it, and I have had does run right up to me, when I have used it. I always carry it with me. It is probably good on coyotes too, but I have never tied it.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-12-04 AT 02:57PM (MST)[p]Thanks! I actually own that call already. will need to play with it some more.

I have called does right up to my truck with a fawn distress call. They work wonders on coyotes too!

I have the same call. We have called does to within 10 yds of the truch while sitting inside calling. They will stand there for a minute and then run off. And we will call them in again. Works great.

I've used the Deer Stopper for years. It works great for does and will occasionally bring a buck with them. I took a doe one year during a poor buck hunt. I shot her in "self-defense" at one yard with a .54 cal T/C Thunderhawk. I was in heavy cover and she came running to kick my a$$ or kill a coyote...It was an awesome experience.

Longrifle 1, out!

I have used them often to get the attention of muley does. I think they work well.

I used a fawn in distress call trying to get two cougars I saw this year and was absolutly stoked to see does running in to raise hell with the evildoer. worked like magic!

I've had three Cougars come in on me while Elk calling already. If there are any big predators in your area I would recommend using that style of call from a treestand.I was on the ground and there is nothing like being hunted to get the heart rate up.
