Arizona Unit 18a

I have been scouting the past several weekends in this unit and I can't believe the number of houses all over this unit. I have hunted this unit in the past, around snow mt, and now there are roads cut all over. We went up around Fort Rock and that was just as bad... Anyone know anything about Anvil Rock on the South side of 40? Is that area subdivided also?

My hunt starts two weeks from today, and I can't wait, but would like to find a little more isolation. The second weekend I will be taking my two sons out for a few nights, one has been out before but will be my five year olds first time.

South, Southeast, and Southwest of Anvil rock is all subdivided now. North of the highway is getting bad too. About the only place in that unit that isnt getting subdivided is south, and southwest of Truxton.

Check your map. I own a place there. It is checkerboarded public/private. You can still hunt the public. And to be honest,the deer numbers appear to be increasing since people are not spending alot of time hunting the area. Check the water holes in the public areas. Look south of Jolly road about 8 miles. Couple good areas back there.
