Flattops snow?

I'll be leaving wednesday for the 3rd season and will be hunting in the Flattops. I've been watching the weather channel and it looks like there should be some snow up there. Just wondering if any knows how much of the white stuff is or will be up there and how high the deer will be at this time. We have hunted this area for the last 2 years 2nd season and decided to give 3rd a try hoping for snow or at least colder weather. Any info would be appreciated and good luck to all others heading out.

Just came back from my 2nd season hunt. Just startin to get some snow fall up there so 3rd season should see some snow up there. I stayed mostly around Buford but there were too many hunters....about 2 or 3 on each mountain. The deer were holding way up on the mountains and hadn't gone down to the sage much. Saw lots of does but very few bucks worth while. I didn't try the northern parts of these units but it may be worth while to check out. Good luck and hope this helps. By the way...I'll be eatin' tag soup this year. Maybe next year!

mchunter did go south of buford or north? did you go in on horses or walk? have hunted elk north of buford but not deer. just didn't see any deer worth shooting.are there some good bucks in the flattops? i want to hunt in the flattops for elk someday.we have horses so getting in is no big deal.we would like to go in a ways to get away from walking crowd.is it worth it to get deer tag in flattops or not?

Just got back from hunting South of Buford where it snowed 5 days straight and it was coming down hard when we left. About 8-10 inches on the ground. Took a couple nice bucks, 4x4 and a 4x5 both with browtines 24" & 28" wide. Tracked mine through the snow saw where he met up with a coyote and eventually got him checking his backtrail.lol
