Looking for a reputable outfitter who does DIY drop camps. Not trophy hunting. Dad is 65 and would like to get him out west one more time for an early season elk muzzleloader hunt. Bull or cow. Can't really shell out 3 or 4 grand a piece. Thats why I'm thinking drop camp.Any info would be appreciated.

I have used Colorado High Guide Service from Gypsum ,Colorado ,on two muzzleloader drop camp hunts and have been completely satisfied.Saw elk and took elk on each trip and his prices were not that bad either.

i to am interested in a drop camp hunt for elk in colorado, i may have as many as 5 friends coming also, but u know how guys drop out at the last minute. any info is appreaciated

A couple years ago I was on a Sturgeon Trip in Hells Canyon and stayed a lodge that also did Drop Camps for hunting season. My understanding is that they supply the tents and will even supply a cook, just depends on the package. It appealed to me because they drop you off in an established camp, and come back and check on you each day or so. I did see a nice herd of elk with a nice bull from their front porch. check out their web page and maybe it will interest you:

I have a few outfitters that offer some excellent drop camps as well as some trepass fee hunts on private ground if you would be interested. Let me know. Sounds like you have some good places to start looking, but if can't find what you are looking for, give me a hollar. Good hunting.

Let me know if I can help. I work with alot of outfitters statewide that offer some excellent drop camps.
