My 19 incher was shot on saturday morning and on monday my brother shot his deer standing not more than 100 yards from where i shot at mine. we were hunt down in the southern region almost due south of Delta, and north of Beaver. From where i shot my deer i could just see the smoke stack from that big power plant out there. The morning I shot my deer i had seen a little bit bigger 4 point to the north of me surrounded by 4 doe so i couldn't get a shot. when he moved into the cedars and never came out i was a little heart broken. right after debating with myself wether or not to chase after him i stood back up on the cab of this guys truck and there came the 4x3 running from my right to left. i took a pot shot at him knowing i probably wouldn't hit him and just waited for him to come out from behind the scrub oak. as soon as he did he turned and ran directly away from me and i shot him in the back. not more than 175 yards away.
(SECOND DEER) Two days later my brother and the guy we were hunting with droped me and my dad off to make a push for them and two other guys and drove up just past where i shot mine and waited. my dad and i waited for the go ahead from the radios to start pushing when i heard two shots and two distinctive thuds of bullets hitting. so i asked if that was someone from our group and just then my brother got on the radio and yelled at the guy on the next hill over that this humungous 6 point was coming over the hill(my brother got excited). i then realized that my brother had to have nailed the deer, because the other guy said he never came over and that he didn't see him. a few seconds later the guy that was with my brother went across to the hill where my brother last saw him. i guess he started up the hill and then we all heard, "Holy $#*@ its a monster, its a monster, its huge, its a monster." I turned to my dad and he was just grinning from ear to ear, because my brother hadn't been hunting in 14 years. you could tell my dad was proud of his two boys, for brother the 14 years reason and for me this is my first buck. we walked over the hill and got my brother to lift it up and without binoculars it looked like he lifted up a tree. I have never seen a deer that big in my life. the best part of the whole story is that my brother did scope himself. he hasn't ever shot a gun with a scope at a deer before, always used a 3030 of my dads. his first shot went right through the left sholder in the soft spot and pulverised the heart and the second, wasn't need, but he hit him in the gut. the deer walked up the hill about 50 yards and keeled over.
this is the story of the two deer, sorry it was so long. this was probably the best weekend us three have had together in a long time. i hope you enjoyed. i will be getting some more pics and will post them.
