I have a general tag in Idaho and went hunting in October in the Anderson Ranch resevoir area. Didn't find anything I wanted to shoot. The season is over in that area but I have an oppurtunity to hunt the panhandle in November. I know nothing about the area. Is it an area that is heavily forested? High mountains? Public land or privately landlocked? I'm gonna start researching the area but I find the wealth of knowledge on this site invaluable. Any info is greatly appreciated. I'm mostly talking about area #1 and several other small areas in the panhandle. Thanks, fatrooster.

Mostly Public land, mostly timbered, thick, nasty. LOTS of deer, mostly whitetail. If you get up high on any ridge though, there will be some muleys, some ridges more than others of course. IF you can spend a few days in mid Novemeber up high on the east side of Priest Lake you could run into some deer, maybe a biggie?

I am going to hunt some high country in the St. Joe country over the 19th-22 for mulies. Should be good, but I am going on hearsay for that spot.

Where do you live? I was also going to hunt the Soldier Mts, but didnt make it down.

Good LUck

horn- i was up behing soldier 2 days ago and couldnt even get to where we wanted to be. too much snow, if there is such a thing.. approx 25 inches and still coming down. it was all socked in with clouds and we never saw a deer due to the limited visability.

around anderson ranch right now there are more tracks coming off that mountain than i have ever seen in one area this time of year. there must be one in there you would be willing to put your tag on. some huge bucks come out of there. travis.

Hornseeker, I live in Elko, Nevada and hunted Idaho this year because I haven't been able to get a tag in Nevada for several years. I enjoyed hunting Idaho but it was a learning expierience. Thanks for the info. If I decide to hunt in November, I will keep your suggestions high on my list.

Orion, I thank you also for your info. Had a good time in Featherville, Pine and Mountain Home. Spent a night or two on Bald Mountain and Steel Mountain. My first time to bivvy hunt. It was great.

Can you be a little more specific on where you are going to hunt. I am from North Idaho and worked in Bonners Ferry for the last 3 months. I can give you some help if you need.

Wow, I'll bet the 45 late hunt is going to whoop A$$ this year! Dang, that would be fun.

Hey Nate, I sent you a PM. And fat rooster, if you do come up, hit me with an email too and I'll be a little more specific.

Good luck all

IDNate, I'm not really particular about any area as long as its in the general tag November hunt. I can't tell you the units because I left my Idaho book at work. But I'll get back with you. I just don't want to be stumbling around in the dark not knowing where to start. I don't want anyones secret spots either, just an area where the deer will still be vacating in November. Thank you for your help.

Hornseeker, I will also let you know more also. Thankyou.
