Deer population 2005

It seems that there have been a lot of deer shot this year in Utah, especially on the rifle hunt. There are a lot more fawns this year than last. How do you think the deer herd will be for 2005.

Depends on the upcomming winter. If its mild I think we will see a good rebound. If its harsh we might have nothing left next year (winters of '83 or '93 anyone?).

There were a hell of alot of deer around this year. Yes people shot ALOT of BIG deer but that means 2 things to me, ALOT of young bucks lived through LAST year, and everyone who shot a big deer left a little one to grow to be big next year. There are ALOT of small bucks running around as of today that if they dont winterkill, will be nice next year.
