pic of a whitetail in utah

The article doesn't ever mention anything about it being a whitetail. Unless you know that it was a whitetail from another source I would guess that the person that added the picture didn't know he/she wasn't adding a picture of a mule deer.
 
its a whitetail 100 percent but it could of been the reason you mentioned they jsut picked up a pic of a deer with out knowing whta kind it was .

For those of you that don't know there are whitetails in Utah. Up in Logan in the riverbottoms and some of the private ground. There have even been a few killed on the hunts over the last few years. Some may not like it but they are here. Time will tell how far they will spread if at all.

Chad is right. The river bottoms in Cache Valley have whitetails. This article, printed in January is about a wintering mule deer herd. The picture is obviously of a new fawn whitetail and mommy in the spring. I guarantee the writer used the photo assuming a "deer's a deer" and never knew it wasn't a muley.
