i am getting excited for this years elk hunts with all the rain and snow this year we should be in for an awsome year of antler growth and healthy animals. it is looking like it will stay around well into april. come on bull tag!!!!!!

Those 400 bulls otta be pushing 450 or better. We may even break the 500 mark.

I've already got an elk tag. Manti Archery. I am way excited with the wet weather. I am just hoping and praying for 400 incher. If there is something bigger, hek, ya!!!

I just want to redeam my self from tag soup in 2005 on the same hunt.

You guys have it wrong. This winter is taking its toll on the elk. The elk will come out of this bad winter beat down so bad it will take months to recouperate their weight. So all their food protein will go to their body and not their horns.(in most cases).

In central and southern utah, the elk are not doing to bad. They have plenty of winter range. For the deer in some of the areas, that's different. They are struggling, but not nearly as bas as the norther part of the state.

well dry mountain that is not the case here in az the elk are in there winter range with very little snow and plenty of rain and good feed, there body fat is doing exptional right now. now utaah and colorado might be diffrent i dont live there so i wont coment on there health. with storms looking to continue in to april it is going to be a bomber year for growth, and the desert is greenier than i have seen it in a very very long time. our lakes are full and rosevelt will fill for the first time since the new dam was built in 96. i do feel sorry for all the deer up in utah and colorado haveing there problems.

the winter before the 05 season was similar to this winter, only this winter has been better, and we all remember what happened in 05 with pattersons bull here in az. Im thinkin we will steal some thunder this coming season. It has been rediculously wet in flagstaff. Would be a great year for a bull tag : )

wow clark you didnt fill your tag hu. well i guess a velvet bull is in your future.

Yep. I made a number of trips looking for the right bull. Saw some great animals, but not the one I was after. This years antler growth should be even better than last.

Clark
