Has anyone ever chased deer in this unit? I see it has a bowhunt open right now and was looking for some general advice on this area.

I know the unit fairly well but haven't ever archery hunted there. There are both whitetails and mule deer in the unit. You will find more whitetails around Market Lake and Mud Lake. In my opinion it would be difficult to stick a big buck during this hunt.

It is large desert unit, deer are spread out. There are both MD and WT and it is open for both. Mud lake WMA can be good on the North side. Unit 63A and 67 are also open for the late archery, but for WT only.

I live in Blackfoot, If either of you want to PM me about where deer might be I would love to go try. I'm not trophy hunting just looking to get a buck.

I haven't hunted 63, but I have hunted 63A and 67 on the river bottoms. I have had the best luck finding a well used trail and setting up and having a partner brush all the way around you. I have never shot anything, but I have always been the brusher. We have been chasing the whiteys, but have ran into a few muleys also. I will be in 63A saturday trying it again. Best of luck to you.
