Went out this morning to find the ellusive whitetail. Found this 5X4 after only a couple of hours of hunting. :) Not a bad buck at all considering they are very extremely rare in this Region. Not a bad week of hunting. Killed 3 deer this week, a big muley, a muley doe and now this decent little whitetail. Guess it's time to start focusing on cats.:)

That's it, I'm packing my bags and heading to BC! I don't think you guys understand how spoiled you guys are with all the species and great hunt'n! Congrads on your success!

Congrats, Steve. Looks like you had another great year. That's a nice buck and your muley was solid. Keep up the good work.

Way to go on another fine animal.
Canada ohhhh Canada.
Thanks for making us jealous..ERR I mean sharing with us again.
Best,

Good job man...that's a nice whitetail no matter where your huntin'. That's a great week for sure. You say next is cats, why not, you already got the dog!:)

Nice WT, Congrats!
Another day at the office for BCBoy.

If I ever defect to Mapleleaf land, it won't be because Kerry lost, no sir....So many big-ems up there. Just follow Steve around and take his throw-aways, LOL!

Congrats BC. Like a couple posts above I like the pictures of the buck in the canoe. Makes them seem very remote.

You make it sound so easy and non-chalent.
Is it? We gotta work pretty hard in Colorado.
I guess you can pic up some fish when the huntings slow too.
Probably just jump in the boat like the deer.

Congrats.

Thanks for all the nice comments. Didn't think you guys like these "dinky dog deer". LOL!
Considering that I have lived in this region for 12 years and have only killed one other whitey in that time frame, I guess it ain't too easy. Like I said earlier, they are extremely rare. In the last few years, I've been seeing more of them. Maybe 20 or so in an entire year of being out there most every day.
That being said, this buck was a very easy buck. Threw the canoe in the river and hunted less than 2 hours. It was very noisy conditions to hunt. No snow, so I was snaping every twig I stepped on. Stopped to sit on the edge of a small back eddy wash. Took out the cookies and didn't even finish the first one and this guy stepped out. One shot with the 300 Win Mag just behind the shoulder, dropped him like a sack of potatoes. When I walked up on him I noticed that he had a hole in his nose and his jaw was shattered. It doesn't look like the damage a bullet would do. It actually looks like he was fighting and got a tine down threw the nose that broke his jaw. Looked like the wound was only a few days old. He would have been coyote bait for sure if I hadn't of killed him.
Here's some more pics from the day.
