Great site!! This is the first time I've ever tried to post pictures so if I mess this up...the following story won't have nearly the same affect.

The story: My buddy and I were hunting up in central Colorado and had been seeing some nice deer throughout the hunt. On the third morning I was on the side of one canyon and my buddy was in another. He called me on the radio and said he saw one monster and one "good" size muley a long way away. So we met up and could see the two deer feeding about 800 yards away. Even from that distance one of the bucks look big. Anyway we did the classic sneak and crawled up over a ridge in the general area where these deer had been. My buddy and I were about 30 yards apart looking for these deer. After about 15 minutes my buddy shot and he hit his deer about 100 yards away (the smaller 4x4). I started scanning looking for the other deer to run but no movement. I slowly started to circle towards the downed deer when the "BIG" deer jumped up from behind a tree and started running up the ridge..the rest is history..my buddy's deer is a beautiful 4x4 with black horns that was 23" wide and about 200 pounds..my deer was a Huge 5x3 with a 33" spread and had to weight 60-70+ pounds more than the 4x4..this is the biggest deer I've ever killed and have taken it to the taxidermist for a mount...now for the question, what's the score for this deer?? I'm in the one picture with this deer and I'm 6'3" and over 200 and those horns are a lot wider than me and my buddy in the other picture with both deer is as big or bigger than me. anyway I have no idea what the score is so maybe you guys can guess..Thanks for listening to my story and I hope to post another one next year...

Great bucks and good story! I'm not very good at scoring, I think the big one would be hard to guess. I bet some of the other guys here will be able to get pretty close. Thanks for letting us take a peak, and welcome!

Great story, welcome to the site. Both bucks are respectable and finding bucks that push the 30" limit isnt something you can do every season. Congrats, but the bad news it that I doubt it will go much more than 180", both bucks are willow horned and fairly short main beams. The wide guy gains his greatest spread with one of those "laid out" kind of racks so its quite possible that his mains are far shorter than his spread. Not knocking your buck one bit, its a fine deer and I would trip the trigger on him in a heart beat but he wont score well IMHO.

Once again, welcome to MM.

Great Job, you guys took some dandy bucks. Like Dakotakid said, they probably wont score a whole bunch, but bigger than anything I"ve shot and I cant wait to shoot one about that size (either).

If this is your first time to the site, look around at some of the posts and you will see some truly magnificent and huge bucks!

Congrats to you and your hunting partner and two great bucks as well. For a "first timer" here, you got the picture posting down so that should not keep you from posting more down the way. Thanks for posting and welcome aboard the MM family.

welcome to MM and congrats on the great bucks. Trying to score by just looking at a couple of pictures is difficult and not always that accurate. I would guess that the bucks gross score would go 185" give or take 5".

HEY there and welcome to MM! What season did you hunt? I hunted 4th in the middle park area and saw lots of deer and shot a nice little 4pt on my last day of the hunt. I would guess your buck in the 174-181" gross range. Thanks for posting! Jeff

Congrats to your and your buddy on a couple of nice deer.

Great Looking deer! Congrats. I would say the wide buck would gross 175 probably net mid 140's. Still going to look great on the wall!
