Yea, I got a full blown case of it now, been suffering from this for over 35 years. "Post deer hunting depression" You can probably come up with some of the symptoms. Here are a few to get started, you add a few of your own if you wish.
Complaining that i haven't had enough sex even though I haven't been home in weeks.
A reluctance to put my stuff away for nine months.
You just can't put your best friends in the closet for that long.
Absolutely nothing makes me happy. Not Ice fishing Not coyote hunting not pro football. Don't even turn on Pro basketball.
I feel like I'm moving out with each tree stand I pull down.
Some of those stands I put more time in than my bed at home.
While I cut firewood I will lapse into a dreamlike state and think about the opportunities missed and made from past seasons.
I'm a little short on firewood this year, will antique oak smoke too much? Will she even miss it?
Although I love cleaning my guns it makes me sad thistime of year.
I get the urge to buy a new one as it will get me over the slump.
The dog is the only one that seems to understand its near the end of the saeson. He wants to giver one more time. Snow too deep? Not a chance.
Finishing out the year with a stick and a string is all I have left and even those days are limited in number.
I have a hard time showing any interest in work.
Not that anyone would notice the difference.
The honeydo list appears to be months old.
Lawn mower battery needs charging. We have a lawn mower?
By now you can pretty much figger I didn't shoot the big one. But even in the years I have taken a wall mount. I still suffer the depression.
Wallowing in self pity

I couldn't agree with you more Driftsifter. This is the sadest, most depressing time of year when hunting seasons are coming to an end. I'll bowhunt till January 2nd, but after the rifle seasons close, it just feels so lonely!
To try and combat this empty feeling, I'll be in Mexico in the middle of January after a coues deer, and possibly a bear hunt in Canada in May. I think if a guy try's hard enough, hunting could be a 12 month a year hobby!
Hang in there, we'll all survive till next year, only to go through this again. :)
