Does anyone here at MM live in or around Kanab,Utah? I passed through there yesterday and I stopped at the Sinclair Station. "Man" there are some empressive bucks in there! The owner of the station told me that they were all killed around Kanab. I know it isnt easy to do but would a guy have a better chance of drawing a non-resident deer tag there in the Kanab area or right over the state line on the Arizona strip?

I've been in that Sinclair, impressive heads. Funny thing is, I was told some of the deer came from Wyoming.........region G/H. Who know? Good luck with your quest for info....

Most of the bucks have the hunters name and place killed on the wall under it.The one I like is Eric Brown's pick ups from the Kaibab.....Awesome. I don't think any are from Wyo.

I live in Kanab, and am friends with the owner of the station. Virtually all, if not all, of the bucks in there were taken around the area (Northern Arizona and Southern Utah). Most of em were taken 10+ yrs ago or longer. Still some nice bucks around but nothing like it used to be. I am with Bura Nut, Brown's pick-up's are one of my favorites in there. There are some realy dandy's. It is for sure worth stopping bye and checking out if your in the area..

East of main street, downtown Kanab ( aka U.S.89) Is a limited entry unit(Paunsaugunt) Tough draw for residents and nonresidents. West of main street is a general season unit . Pretty easy to draw . The Az strip to the south is pert near impossible to draw. I have heard that people do draw down there but I've never been able to confirm. It might just be some kind of myth.

I Live near kanab and have been in there several times. Always a favorite stop for me. As already mentioned, most the heads are from the Pauntsguant, Az strip and Kiabab. Unfortunately Ryan Hatchs prediction that the pauntsguant would soon become the land of the 24 inchers has become a reality. Most the bucks you see in the sinclair are from the glory days of the pauntsguant, which i believe was the 1980's.

Horn, the area directly south of the Pauns. in Arizona is the Kaibab it used to be an over the counter archery for deer, the strip is 13a & 13b straight west of the Kaibab & near impossible to draw.

Easier is a relative term. I know as a resident, a strip or Kaibab tag is the "tag of a life time" for any resident so maybe Utah has better draw odds but I doubt it... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Thanks for the input guys! I knew it wouldnt be easy to draw either tag but I was just wondering which one if either would be worth a try! I know some tags in Utah & Arizona people have tried to draw for years and have never drawn. "Happy Holidays"

Yup, been there many a times to just stand and stare. They sure are some nice bucks. Usually though, when I want to see another fine collection in town, I head on over to Jeremy's house (jdh) and check out his muleys. Not too shabby in its own right. :)

Now, Now BOHNTR I wouldn't dare compare my tiny collection to that of the Sinclair Station's.. However, I wish it did.. Could you imagine all the velvet!!!!

Good Luck on your Hunt. Happy New year to all.
