has anyone subscribed to the $100 service/magazine? i was wondering if it's a good bet for looking into a muley hunt or just to get started on researching a location.

poulsbo,

I have not subscribed to Carter's publication, YET!!! (I plan on subscribing) Yeah, it is a little expensive, but they do have some great info. on all kinds of hunts. A buddy of mine knows a lot more about this publication and he plans on subscribing. He also said one of the aspects of the publication is getting on a reserve list for "last minute cancellation" hunts. Which you can pick up at a pretty reasonable price if you are interested in that. And when I mean last minute, I mean last minute, as little as two weeks notice. That is about all I know. Hope that helps!!

It is definitely worth the 100.00 bucks. It gets rid of all the guess work in out of state areas. I have been with the service for 3 years and I will keep joining. Garth and Jason give a lot of valuable information. My bull that I killed this year is on the cover of the January issue.

try looking into antlerquest.com I'm thinking hard on it myself for this year....it's been tried and found true by memeber here at MM.com.....

With the price of quality hunts these days, if they help you draw one tag in ten years, its still a great deal. Well worth the money in my opinion.

There's an existing thread on this topic:

I split a subscription with a co-worker. It's worth it. I drew a NR CO mule deer tag my second year. Good advice on which states and units to build up bonus points. Yeah, you COULD do all the research yourself, or listen to all the advice on forums like this, but I think it's worth the bucks (pun intended!!!)
