Well, today was our first day in the field in Sonora and it was a huge success despite the fact that we did not knock one down. My partner who is down there conducting the hunt said that they saw 3 deer over 30" today and all were first day shooters. There were 2 this morning, the smaller of the 2 is a 32" buck that is massive with above avg forks. They feel that he will gross in the low to mid 190's. The other deer is in their words "just a better deer, its the next class of buck.". My partner and his hunter then located a 3x4 tonight that is just a giant. Again, tons of mass and over 30" but is missing a G3 on one side but his health would be in great decline if they see him again. I hope to be able to update this tomorrow with news of exactly what one of these deer will score. Oh, they also saw a mid 180's deer this morning but they were joking that its a dang good day in the field when you dont even talk about the mid 180's buck that you passed on.

Nothing hit the ground again today. They passed on the big 3x4 from last night saying that if he had his G3 that he was missing it would be a no-brainer. They caught a glimpse of another very large deer but it was too thick to get a good look. Other than that the day was uneventful, lots of rain which is always welcome in the desert. I will keep you guys updated until I head out on Fri.
