LAST EDITED ON Jan-05-05 AT 03:40PM (MST)[p]BruinBreath, That is a real nice ring, we used to buy those in the early 70s, they were called promise rings back then! Go get her a big honking Zerbic (mspl) with a ton of rocks on it. Tell her to wear that for a while and after 10 years that you will upgrade it. You can't tell the difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LAST EDITED ON Jan-05-05 AT 04:42PM (MST)[p]Looks pretty. I2 is a pretty big "imprefection" though. I1 is better grade followed by VS2/1 (very small), VVS2 (very very small) then VVS1 then perfect (think perfect is next stage).

CZs are more "bang for the buck" and are actually better stones... just man made.

Not to deter you but a 6 prong "tiffany" type setting will hold that stone alot better. Prongs wear down over a couple years then just catching it on some clothing or something can pop a prong loose. On a 4prong theres a good chance you might loose the stone, tiffany settings will hold'em tight.

Dont rush the decision... and definitely barter with whatever jeweler you work with. Last thing I bought my wife I picked out an extremely pretty pendant, swapped out the chain for something MUCH better then picked out some unrelated earrings I thought would match the pendant... then I got to haggling for the whole package. After about 20 min we settled on a price, 70% below their retail price tag :)
