muley population decrease

I'm not sure if i have ever heard this theory or if it even has any basis what so ever, but i was wondering if the decrease in muley numbers could be an effect of the increase in whitetail numbers. I know where i live (northwest Ok) that 40 years ago the only deer we would occasionally see would be mule deer. Now whenever I feed the cows in the morning i almost always see deer. But i never see mule deer, just the whitetail. Like i said i'm not sure whether or not their is any evidenve to support this theory, but i was just kinda wondering

It also seems where elk numbers are way up, muley numbers are down. Maybe, maybe not.

I love whitetail deer and elk but if they are pushing out the mule deer then I can do without them. I live in Nevada and so far as I know whitetails are not here yet. But I think that it is just a matter of time. I know that plenty of people will be happy to see the prolific whitetail all over in the West but not me. I'll take a muley over a whitey anyday. fatrooster.
