I am glad you guys like the bucks and it was a great hunt. I have been fortunate to hunt the best this old world has to offer. But I have to tell you all, Nothing will ever beat the High Country. The desert is great, don't get me wrong, But if I had to choose, it would be Nevada. Sneeking in to a high basin and glassing a buck while shakin from the cold, is the best there is. Mud, cold, smoke, snow and horse crap are hard to beat! Just my opinion. Good luck to all and I hope everyone gets a chance to try Sonora someday. Dave

Blueoak, congrats on two great animals. It's even better when you can share it with family members.
I went to Alaska in Sept. for what I thought was going to be a hunt of a lifetime. The experience was great, but the whole time I had a longing for the southwestern mountains. It turns out the most memeorable hunt I had this year was my November elk hunt. I didn't get an elk, but I spent a full 5 day hunt with my 9 year old son. He hiked every step the way with me. I taught him about the woods and tracking, and we even found a couple of sheds (not to mention some pretty close encounters with elk). It will go down as one of my most enjoyable hunts I've ever had. Next year my son will be hunting and it will be even better. Alaska and African Safari's are great, but there no comparison to the time we spend in the woods with the ones we care about the most.

Thanks for the words Dave; you seem like a good guy. The world could use a little more humility...

I hope someday to take my boys on a trip to Sonora. ;-)

Congrats!

S.

I've hunted from Alaska to New Mexico and twice for antelope in Nevada. My next goal is a deer hunt in Nevada. From your description, it sounds like I'm in for a real treat. All that's left to do is draw a tag. Thanks
