Looking for some info.I just applied for this unit so hows the hunting? Good, fair,or bad? I,ve never hunted it before, just looking for some place different. This unit is south of Rock Springs to the Colorado border. What shape is the deer heard in?Do horses come in handy in this unit?We usually take horses to get away from the crowds but this unit dosen,t look to big.Its only a 15% chance that I would get drawn anyway. Thanks in advance for any info...Devlin

ODDS are worst than 15%!
Good deer, elk, antelope! numbers are way down as with most every where in the west.
lots of deer if you know where to look! ask warden(whos hard to get hold of). I will be in the draw too hunted it 4 times for deer and 3 times for lopes! horses not needed! but the best glass you can buy is the best thing you can do for yourself! LOTS OF THREE PTS!when they become 4x4's they are alot harder to come by! some privite lands around statelines! aspin mt,pine mt is a good starting pt! if you draw page me!

where were you when my wife drew two years ago? Also is it true a guy named Cory taught you everything you know about hunting.lol

I drew and hunted the area this year. I would say that the deer density is a bit low, but there are some older class deer. We saw a lot of elk in the area we hunted and snow later in the season made the hunting good, but it was tough to get around. There really is no need for horses in this area. There are a lot of roads, but I still didn't see a lot of other hunters, especially later in the season. Good luck in the draw. The 15% odds on the special draw are better that the 10-11% I can get as a resident. If you draw, let me know and I can get you started on some areas that I saw deer in.

Hey boomer and the rest of you guys, thanks for the info.If I get drawn I'll give you guys a e mail...Devlin
