Mule deer books.

I know this question has been asked before but I made a search into the old posts and could not find the info I was looking for. I've got Mike Eastmans book about hunting High Country Mule Deer which is good but I was looking to get a couple of other books. Anybody have any suggestions on some good mule deer hunting books? fatrooster.

Here are several. Kirk Darner, How to Find Giant Bucks. Kathy Etling, Hunting Super Bucks. Dwight Schuh, Hunting Open Country Mule Deer. Jay M Gates, Bucks I Have Taken. Also Dwayne Adams has a book out that should be good.

There are quite a few. Looking on amazon you will find a few. There is one by Jim Zumbo called,"Hunting America's Mule Deer." Covering a multitude of terrain and topics in regards to mule deer, I consider it one of my favorites although it is a bit dated. I like the fact that it is dated and covers a time when monarchs roamed the ridges.

Another good series of books are the ones for each state that cover the state records. David Long and Scott Mansor wrote one a few years back on Wyoming and I love reading that on a cold winter night. Ya know, takes you back to those aspen patches and the stories are occassionally good enough to alomost fill the nostrils with the smell of sage. Another of these record books is,"Colorado's Biggest Bucks and Bulls" by Susan Reneau.

Wyoming's Finest Mulies by David Long and Scott Mansor and David is going to have a #2 later this year.
Another one is Idaho's Greatest Mule Deer by ryan Hatfield which is advertised here on MM.
Go to www.google.com and type in Deer Hunting Books and you will fine a whole bunch.
As far as Kirt Darner's forget it, you probably will not fine one as been out of print a long time and those that have them, won't part with them.

Walter Prothero's book on muleys is very good as well, he speaks a lot about tracking which I like reading about.

Here are a few more. Zumbo and Prothero are mentioned above but I thought I'd list both books by each of them, so you have the titles. Kirt Darner's book is occasionally available on e-bay, which is how I got my copy. I'd recommend Kathy Etling's book (Hunting Superbucks), Hunting America's Mule deer by Zumbo, and Hunting Open Country Mule Deer by Dwight Schuh. Mule Deer Quest is also pretty decent. Good reading!
