I am in search of a quality deer hunt in Colorado, with limited presure and a chance at a 180" class mule deer. I have a option to buy a landowner tag for either unit 60,62,64,65.

I do not know alot about the areas in question and would appreciate any input on one or all of these four units.

Thank you

I started a few months ago where you started. You need to do several things before you buy a tag. I am new to this web-site but have found you will not get any handouts. You need to pay the 24.00 dollars for the recap of the units that is available on this web-site. It will give you general information to start with. Some of the tags that are sold can be had through the general drawing. I have not looked at the units you are asking about. Go to the colorado website and go to the demands. It will give you an idea of how many points it should take to draw a tag. Colorado is just like any other state, the tags that are harder to come by are the better hunts. Also read every colorado hit in the mule deer section, you can gleen information. And last but not least contact Jeff Coldwell at antlerquest. He is great to work with and will assist you if you pay him for the information. He goes by deerking

unit 64 and 65 are combined units. 64 is almost all private, and there is a lot of private on 65 as well.If you hunt 65 get a blm map and get familiar with the area. There are good bucks in this unit but you'll have to work for em. 62 is also a good unit but you'll have to learn where the public ground is. Anywhere on the western slope will probably be good this year.

Does anyone have any knowledge about hunt area 591, it's on the Fort Carson Military Reservation, as to the quality of deer and how do you get on the post. Just looking for a place to hunt this fall with no points. Thanks

Buying any tag in those 4 areas leaves alot
to be desired. I would not take one for free. Roy
