I'm sure many of you have seen the great buck picture DEERKING had in the new issue of Muley Crazy. It looks to me like he was almost on top of the buck, and what a trophy buck it was. Anyhow, congrats to DK for another great picture.

I honestly think that is one of the neatest pictures I have ever seen. Personally I like the original photo that DeerKing took though. Ryan cropped it a little too much in the magazine but it still looks great!

Do you still have the original handy Jeff? If so I'm sure those that don't get Muley Crazy would like to see it.

You da man! :)

The picture was a stunner!! The nontipical in the previous issue was equally impressive DK

I have subscriptions to both Trophy Hunter and Muley Crazy. My question to everybody here if you killed a Trophy and wanted it in a magazine which one do you send your story and pics and Why?

Great to see the work it takes to find these bucks be rewarded especially to such a great guy. Congrats Jeff!

Vince Martinez another great photographer deserves a congrats as well for his great photo's now gracing the pages of Muley Crazy as well.

Best,
Jerry

Recognized your photo too, when I flipped through the pages. Great buck... What is the story behind the photo Jeff? Was he on to you at this moment? Did he even have a clue that you were there? What distance did you snap the photo? It seems he is coming in to you... How did you get in front of him to ambush him for your photo... Things like that. I sure it's hard to just spit this out...it doesn't seem like your style. But since we are all jealous and envy the photo and the moment you must have had, the more details the better. If you don't mind.

You work and photos are always stared at in awe and amazement. So nevermind if it sounds corny... I'm dying to hear about it.

Jeff

I got your phone message... just sent you an email.

I wasnt as close to the buck as the pic appears. A good zoom and a tripod made for a descent photo along with a bit of cropping. When you see the video of him you'll see he was a good distance from me, at least 50 yards. He had an eye on another buck with a group of does about 100 yards back to my left and was focused on them. I was just in the right spot at the right time.

Yeah I have felt like I may have been to close to a big buck before.....

Sorry for the ? symbol, but it's the only version I have here at work.

Getting pictures of deer like that is one thing, getting great pictures is another. Congratulations. It's pretty tough sneaking up on deer like that, they sure look co-operative. Are these deer huntable? Or are they park deer?

Jeff,
Wow, another brute! I'll put him in my recurring dream that I have every night about the high country of Colorado.

Congratulations on a great picture of a monster.
You can't see me right now, but I'm bowing...LOL!

DK, man that is a fantastic picture.....congrats on some great air time.......hope you get to shoot one like that this year...... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Deerking and Vince- Great pics!!! It takes some serious talent to not only find the bucks but to get close and take great pictures. good job and keep them coming!

Awesome pictures DeerKing and Vince, congrats on getting them in Muley Crazy! Thanks for posting here on the site too. Those are some great bucks, and great photography as well.

I'll post a photo I sent in to Muley Crazy. They didn't want to publish it, I couldn't figure out why. I was pretty darn close to the critter. I know the lighting isn't the best, but they must be really picky........

Congrats to you Jeff and also Vince and there is someone else not mentioned earlier that has pictures in this issue. Turn to Page 71 titled; "100 Years of MuleyCrazy Traditions".
Mike is known here as "Longun" from WY. Congrats to you Mike on those "good Old Time B/W pictures" and that 2000 Buck but isn't that almost the same as the one from 2003? LOL
To everyone with Photos in MC, congratulations to you all and Jeff those two "close ups" are heart stopping.

Brian
P.S. Almost forgot, the picture on Page 27 titled "Support Our Troops" showing a picture of Doyle Moss with Mel Helm's Buck, this Mel Helm owns the local gun store here where I live.

This was a fantastic year with monster muley's harvested and photographed. MC along with all the other magazines are incredible. Great stories. Congratulations to Jeff and Vince. Love your work... Thanks for sharing... Each photo makes me more and more committed to getting into the hills to find a similiar buck.
