My credit card has already been hit for a deer tag. When I called the number on my card statement to check I was told I had drawn a tag. I thought the drawing wasn't until May. Anybody know whats up with this?

They take the full amount of the license when they recieve your application...After the draw is complete, if unsuccessful they'll refund the cost minus the $3 application fee. The draw doesn't happen until later, like June. The deadline for applications is at the beginning of april...so there is no way you could have drawn a tag....Best of luck anyhow...

I assumed thats what happened. I thought last year they charged me the $3 then hit my card again when I drew the tag. You could look on your credit card report and see if you drew before it was posted. I might be getting my States mixed up. Thanks for the reply sneakem.

HH... They bill your credit card the full amount at the time of applying for a point or a draw.. Then after the draw you will receive a check for the refund of all except $3.00. Not a bad system in my mind to be able to recieve a preference point for $3.00.

just email the state your credit card #, expiration date, name on card and 3 digits on the back to [email protected] and they can find out if you did draw or not. ;-)

I thought you had to wait until after the 5th and until the CDOW posted the resultls on the web. So what you are telling me is if I wait until April 10th or so I can email them and find out?

Leadpoison: Just to clarify. Here are the facts for COLORADO:
When you apply online, they immediately charge your credit card the full amount of the tag.
The deadline for applications is April 5th.
The actual drawing is held in late May. I don't think they even set the tag numbers unitl early May so that they can get all the animal numbers/how bad the winter was, etc. You can usually find out early June online if you drew, but obviously you can't find out until after the drawing, which at this point is still a long time in the future.
In June, after the drawing, if you were unsuccessful in the drawing, they send you back the entire amount minus a $3 application fee. If successful, they send you the tag.
As stated above, don't email anyone with your credit card number. It was a joke. lol.

I am retarded. Between this and the "Crossbreading" thread you would think I had an IQ of 85. Actully I could be a member of MENSA if I wanted to, but this thread would seem to prove I am somewhat intelligent. As I stated earlier, I was running on about zero sleep yesterday. LOL
