I know this is the mule deer section, however I think there is a lot of traffic and you guys have a lot of insight on the Bookies.

I found out today that either my wife or I have drawn a Bear Tag on the Book Cliffs (Charged Credit Card).

Any tips, techniques or areas that you are willing to share with me. We drew the rifle tag and are beginners to bear hunting.

Any body out there hunted this area?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Any Guides that come with High Recomendations?

Thanks CS

Never hunted it for bear and I've only seen 1 bear there but, there's a patch of pines on the divide road just east of Railroad Canyon. In those pines are a couple camping spots. I talked to a guy who used to camp there every bow season. He said every year there were bears that raided his camp. Incidently, that's exactly where I saw the 1 bear I've seen out there.

I have never been bear hunting so take this infrmation for what it's worth. Which is probabliy not much. I have been out there several times chasing deer and elk with other members of my family. Anytime that I have spent more the three days out there we have seen a bear. Here are a couple of the Canyons that we have seen bear in, Hay Canyon, East Canyon, McCook ridge, 10 mile point (I thinks thats what is was called), and the last canyon was the one the drains to the South East of the Radio tower on top. Sorry I could not remeber the name.

Good luck

Thanks a ton you guys. I will scout and try to hook up with this guide.

I will keep you posted on the Bear Saga and try to capitalize on this tag.
