does anybody know anything about unit 158 wyoming? is it rugged country or flat lands. what to expect if we draw out there for deer. any info would be appreciated.

It's flat to rolling, to small-scale rugged badlands, to a central uplift of canyons and ponderosa pine. It's undersubscribed, if you applied you WILL draw. All of the decent hunting is controlled by private landowners, the publicly accessible public land is small-scale, crowded, and marginal quality. Even if you are willing to pay, most of the better places to hunt are filled up a year in advance.

I'd call the Casper G&F office and get a landowner list for the area, and the Douglas WY Chamber of Commerce, they help hunters find a place to hunt. You need to try and find a ranch to hunt ASAP, for a quality hunt it is 100% pay to play.

call cole creek outfitters. this is where i hunt coyotes and sheds there are some dandy bucks
the bucks have a genetics that makes lots of three points but there are some whoppers and lots of 160" there are some 30" and larger
there are lots of deer and i think more die of old age then die of hunters.
i cant get on to deer hunt but i know the area close to casper well.its a big area and whoever has the land 10 miles this side of wright has some huge bucks i dont know who has the hunting leases out there but i see monsters from the hiway.
iebrlin has a huge ranch between wright and midwest with lots of deer.
i'd love to hunt that area but i can't talk myself into not having more then one area to hunt.
most of it is privete or landlocked. you will need a good outfitter to get on the best spots but some of the biggest bucks i have ever seen are there.

As has been mentioned already, good area with very difficult access. I've hunted it before.
