NV. Units 131-134

Anyone with any knowledge and experience in these units care to share? Last weekend I accompanied my wife to Vegas for treatment of her diease. On Monday while she was hooked up to life support(video poker machine)I drove the boundries of these units to familarize myself. Unfortunately snow and low ceilings prevented any quality observations. Getting ready to apply online and my previous experience has been in 221-223, 231 and 241-245. I have 5 NR points and feeling optimistic and looking for additional options or should I continue to apply in eastern NV? THANKS!

A few years back I bowhunted 131 and it was pretty good. There were deer throughout the unit with some average to great bucks running around. As with any unit in NV if you do your homework you're bound to find something impressive. Good luck!

Because of the way NV does thier draw, seems like you end up hunting new area each year you draw. Now that I've hunted all those areas you mentioned I believe they all have nice bucks and enough deer to go around. But the key to being successful is knowing the area and going back again and again (the Eastman way). I wouldn't waste a tag learning a new area when you can hunt familiar territory. If you're going guided then it's a different story but 13 is as good as the any other but might be a harder tag to draw.

I hunted this unit the year before last. We camped about 10 miles west of the White River Ranch. I'm a NV resident and this was the first year I had hunted this unit. We prescouted and seen quite a few deer in and around Sage Hen Spring and the surrounding area. We hunted opening weekend in the same area, we seen a few deer, but nothing to write home about. I returned the week before the season ended. I hunted my legs off for 5 days straight and did not see one hair. Finally on my last day I ran across a descent 3x4 and took him. I was pretty discouraged after hunting so long and hard and not finding anything. Not a bad area, but I would rather hunt some place else. Such as 221-223, 231, 242, etc......
