Claude Dallas Info

I did some research and read a lot about Claude Dallas last night. He, and what happened really intrigues me. He is portrayed as some sort of hero and had the same sort of aura as Manson. I'm sure not quite as diabolical as Manson but in the same realm. I read excerpts of some that think he paid his price to justice and so forth. I think the guy was nuts. I looked for the movie The Manhunt for Claude Dallas everywhere but couldn't find it. Does anyone have the movie or can anyone give any suggestions on where I can find it? Also, there were no pictures of Claude Dallas anywhere on the net that I could find. Can someone put a picture up of him so that I can put a face with the crime? Thanks.

Steve

Yeah there is a line between healthy skepticism of govt. and just downright being a bubble off plumb- one good way to tell the difference is when guys start defending cold-blooded murderers like Dallas,McVeigh,Koresh, etc.

Game Wardens, ATF agents, and Federal workers are regular, patriotic Americans just like most of us and the families of those killed by scum like Dallas should be the ones receiving our attention, not their killers...

(Sorry I don't know the movie but I thought there was a picture or two on the other thread.)

I saw the other two threads but really only read through one of them last week. I will probably go back and go through the one I didn't get involved with. The defense theory that Dallas had a gun pulled on him first and that he buried the CO's guns is just too suspect for me. He should have received more than manslaughter. That's our judicial system though.

get a beer and be prepared for the idiot group in here to come to this post and start posting bull$hit like, long live the modena ghost, and, he paid his debt, leave him be.....idiots i tell you!! he is a dirtbag poaching murderer!! all there is to it.

I SAW THE MOVIE.....IT WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD. IT DID PORTRAY DALLAS AS A BUBBLE OFF/DANGEROUS FELLA WITH A TON OF FRIENDS COVERING FOR HIM.,,,,,,,,YD.

Dallas now lives in Central Oregon where he has taken up dirt farming. He votes democratic. Not sure if he has murdered anyone lately.

I did not think of Google images but there it is. Looks like I get to waste more of my day looking at this stuff! HaHa! It is just an all around interesting story.

YD- How long ago did you see the movie and where did you get it?

Steve

I'm hoping I don't see Claude Dallas on "What They're Doing Now" or any lame show like that!! Could you imaging him on "Dancing with the Stars"? He'd knock 'em dead! Literally!!

Your right Deepfork, there is some wackos out there that arent going too like some of our opinions, I was in Modena a few years back on a hunt and ran into some real Manson look alike kind, talk to a Game Warden and said to be real careful the black helicopters the goverment were in that area keeping an eye on these clowns, Hey Steve Dallas might be your old bosses neighbor in Central Orgeon, he has two ranches up there and word has it that he is the second largest land owner in Oregon.

I have a book I bought many years ago about Claude Dallas titled Give A Boy A Gun. It claims to be a true story. It was written by Jack Olsen in about 1985. It is certainly one of the most interesting stories I have ever read.
I think the fact that Mr Olsen refers to most of the characters by their real names makes it more interesting. Also the country is just as he describes it in the book.
According to the book there were some local ladies on the jury who could or would not agree on a murder verdict but they did agree on voluntary manslaughter. Therefore the judge handed down the most seveir penalty he could under the law, 30 years.
There are one or two folks who think Dallas has paid his debt but I know of no person familiar with the case who beleives he has.

Wiszard all the info you can get on Claude is just a click away. All you have to do is PM jackrussel or nevadabadger, those two Pole Smoker's are in love with the guy. They prolly masterbate every day looking at his photo's!

Here we go again. For the record I don't love Claude Dallas or condone what he has done. I have said that he paid his debt to society. That debt was set by the judge, no one else. He will have to deal with the man upstairs when that day comes. I feel we have to respect the descisons of the courts, regardless of whether we agree or not, if we don't respect our judicial system, we will soon end up on the other side of the law. I DO NOT AGREE WITH WHAT CLAUDE HAS DONE.

Long live the Modena Ghost.

Ya, I saw that last night. $70 for a movie? I think they've been smokin' something pretty good!

Steve

I thought you couldn't vote if your a felon. If Dallas is a dirt farmer in Oregon, and votes democratic, maybe they got him mixed up with Huntindude. Thanks, Doug.

It is truely amazing to see someone call out someone on the internet as spineless, yet erect a cold blooded cop killer as a hero. What a coward.

I don't want to change the direction this is going, but I don't see a connection between Dallas and Manson.

They both are a waste of air as far as I am concerned.

I didn't mean a connection in that sense that their personalities are the same....really a connection in that they are both cold-blooded in a way. Dallas killed his victims execution style....SICK. Manson didn't do the killing but the way he instructed the killers to kill.....SICK. I suppose any killer that kills in a maniacal way has a connection with another killer than kills that way. If that makes sense!

The 'LONG LIVE' signature sure as he!! gives the implication you do. If I'm not mistaken you gave direct symbolic reference to the idea that 'modena ghost=claudia dipnard' in prior posts. If not, my bad. Whether or not you mean it that way, it sure comes off as such. And as such, it is a spit in the face to the cops and surviving families of those slain.

"It's a damn shame when a man can't live his life without someone trying to gun him down"

That was quote from my grandfather, who knew both Dallas and Pogue very well, and had respect for both of them. We could never figure out, who it was he was referring to.

Do you really believe that our BS judicial system is American way and justice is served? Our judicial system is broken ding dong. We plea bargain murderers, rapists and child molesters to save time and money in the long run.

For you to make comments about this tool in any positive light and call others commies is about as correct as your justification. If you had any inclination on our super judicial system you would understand why charges are changed and others remain the same. You must believe the people that run their add campaigns and glamorize their 90% conviction rate is actually that. I have seen countless crooks walk away or get some bogus plea bargain because the CA or DA wants the easy out and still count the conviction stat.

To say he served his debt to society is just about as ignorant as you portray your sh!t for brains self. Just as you keep trying to justify some murderers actions by saying he was pushed too far. I bet your real proud you voted for Obama too, hope the ?Change? is working out for you.

I do want to thank you for being such an idiot, people like you give me job security and plenty of court overtime. One day I will comprehend how people such as you made it this far in life.

Bailif Mike,

His jury found him guilty of manslaughter and the judge gave him all he could....Dallas served every minute he was sentenced to and walked as a free man....yes our system works, and works well. I would rather see 10 guilty men walk free than one innocent man be wrongly convicted...it isn't pretty or perfect but is the right thing. Maybe an unhappy relative can finish his punishment.

I am no Claude Dallas fan and believe he was guilty of murder but that isn't what his jury thought.

I lived in Round Mountain NV from 1985 to 1991. It's in the Big Smokey Valley and on one end was a little town, Austin NV. It was said that Claude was known by many in the area and was a friend to many , it was a story that alot of locals knew only as the government covering a mistake and that many people believed there was alot more to the story told.Claude was a known poacher and it was just a matter of them catching him in the act, and he was very vocal about his beliefs regarding the law , game and fish included and he stood that he wasn't to be governed by any law.He was a nut case and I believe he very much wanted to be challenged. Now he will have his day come face to face with God and will be judged by His rule....

I agree with D13r, I too would rather 10 guilty men walk free, than 1 innocent man wrongly convicted. Nothing on this earth is perfect, (accept for maybe the moron 300mike). Get a clue mike, take a good look in the mirror and see who acutally has ##### for brains. It is the best system there is. Claude Dallas will be judged ultimatley by his maker to answer for all of his doings, good, bad, or otherwise.
